This maybe a short story but it's not short on action and sets the tone for the books to come in the series. The idea for the setting came to me after diving the cenotes in Mexico - an amazing experience. With the Crystal Caves on the north side of Grand Cayman being an example of the islands own cave and cavern system, the location was born.
